Possible side effects
- Low doses — usually well tolerated; mild dizziness, nausea, itching or rash.
- High doses — neurotoxicity: dizziness, blurred vision, confusion, loss of balance; severe cases seizures or coma.
- Accumulates with daily dosing (half-life ~18 h) — effects build over days.
- Never use veterinary-grade products.
- Antiparasitic dosing is usually a single dose (repeat only if directed).
- Absorption improves markedly with a high-fat meal (~2.5×).
- Stop and seek help if you notice neurological signs at higher doses.
