Refund & Chargeback Policy

Last updated July 1, 2026

This Refund & Chargeback Policy explains how refunds work for digital gift cards purchased from 2TheLife, and what to do if you have a problem with a charge. Because gift cards are delivered electronically and the value is available immediately, they are treated differently from ordinary retail goods.

Digital goods — general rule

Each gift card is a digital, stored-value product. Once the code has been issued and delivered to the recipient's email address, the value can be redeemed right away. For this reason gift cards are generally non-refundable once delivered.

When we will issue a refund

  • Duplicate or accidental charge — if you were charged more than once for the same order.
  • Undelivered card — if a technical error meant the gift card was never issued or delivered, and the balance has not been used.
  • Unauthorized transaction — if you did not authorize the purchase, contact us immediately (see below) and we will investigate and, where appropriate, reverse the charge.
  • Unused balance — in genuine hardship or error cases, we may refund a card whose full balance is still unspent, at our discretion.

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method and typically take 5–10 business days to appear, depending on your bank.

When we cannot refund

  • The gift card balance has already been spent, in full or in part.
  • The card was delivered to an email address you entered incorrectly.
  • Change-of-mind requests after the code has been issued and delivered.

Before you open a chargeback — contact us first

If you see a charge you don't recognize or have any problem with your order, please email [email protected] before contacting your bank. Almost every issue — including unrecognized descriptors, delivery problems, and accidental purchases — can be resolved directly, usually within one business day. A bank chargeback typically takes weeks and is rarely faster than dealing with us.

Charges from this site may appear on your statement as 2TheLife or 2thelifepay.com. If a charge with either descriptor looks unfamiliar, it is almost certainly a 2TheLife gift card purchase — please reach out and we will identify it for you.

Disputed & fraudulent chargebacks

For every order we retain proof of purchase and fulfilment, including the order reference, payment authorization, delivery record, and redemption history. If a chargeback is filed, we will submit this evidence to the card network. Filing a chargeback on a gift card whose balance has been redeemed — sometimes called "friendly fraud" — may result in the associated balance being frozen and the account being suspended, and does not release the redeemed value.

Fraud screening

To protect cardholders, we screen every order and may verify, delay, hold, or cancel any order that appears high-risk, and may request identity verification before a card is delivered. Orders we cancel for fraud screening are refunded in full to the original payment method.
